We use the most innovative, globally recognized gas blocking container available. The Halopack system (coated paper container + sealing film) was launched in 2011 with the first global patent. Now, after six internationally registered patents, the system has exceeded 1 billion containers in sales, led to the creation of 14 production factories in aseptic conditions and entered the largest supermarket chains on the planet.
Halopack© containers are produced in Greece at Kapelis Packaging’s facilities.
The Halopack container is suitable for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). In addition to maintainability, due to the retention of residual gases at desirable levels and corresponding to those resulting from the use of plastic containers measured over the same period of time, the container has the following advantages:
- Reduction of up to 90% of plastic per utensil.
- Cardboard up to 90% already recycled raw material.
- The recyclable removable coating has been applied to the cardboard without glues and solvents. Unlike coated paper bags or utensils which – normally – are not recycled, after the final use by the consumer, the coating is easily separated from the cardboard and thus, paper and plastic parts take separate paths to proper recycling.
- Use of eco-friendly food-safe inks that leave no traces in the environment
- Resistance to refrigeration, (0°C – 5°C), reheating in microwaves (3.5 min at 600 Watts) or in a conventional oven with air (20 min at 120 °C).
The airtight paper container first used in industrial food packaging, which came as a result of years of research by the world’s leading flexible (polymeric) packaging material manufacturer AMCOR.
As is understandable, the Halopack System is accompanied by all the necessary certifications imposed by international legislation: Migration Reports, Declarations of Conformity according to REGULATION (EU) No. 10/2011 for plastic materials and objects intended to come into contact with food) – suitability for direct contact with all types of food, Risk Assessments etc.
